25th Panhellenic Congress of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery – Angiology

The 25th Panhellenic Congress of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery – Angiology, organized by the Hellenic Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, was held on 19–21 March in Larissa and constituted one of the most significant scientific events in the field of vascular diseases in Greece.

The congress brought together a large number of specialists, including vascular surgeons, angiologists, radiologists, and physicians from related disciplines. The primary objective of the meeting was the presentation of the latest scientific data, the exchange of knowledge and clinical experience, and the strengthening of interdisciplinary collaboration for the effective management of vascular disorders.

The scientific programme was extensive and of high academic level, comprising keynote lectures, round table discussions, satellite symposia, and presentations of original research. Particular emphasis was placed on contemporary endovascular techniques, which have significantly transformed therapeutic strategies by offering minimally invasive approaches associated with improved clinical outcomes and reduced patient morbidity.

Throughout the sessions, major topics were addressed, including the management of aortic aneurysms (both open and endovascular repair), carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, as well as venous pathology and thromboembolic disease. In addition, recent advances in vascular imaging, the development of new devices and stent technologies, and the growing role of personalized medicine were thoroughly discussed.

A key component of the congress was the presentation of clinical cases and interactive sessions, during which real-world diagnostic and therapeutic challenges were analyzed. These sessions encouraged active participation and facilitated critical decision-making discussions among participants and experts. Furthermore, young physicians and researchers presented their scientific work, contributing to the advancement of research and the emergence of new ideas in the field.

Overall, the congress highlighted the continuous evolution of vascular and endovascular surgery, reinforcing the importance of ongoing education and the integration of innovative technologies into clinical practice, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.
